July 1969. The National Security Directorate (DNS), headed by Major Fernando Barrientos, is in danger. The regent of Mexico City, Alfonso Corona del Rosal, wants to get rid of the Directorate and thereby weaken one of his main adversaries in the presidential succession: the Secretary of the Interior, Luis Echeverria. In an act of survival and political revenge, Barrientos intends to save his Directorate and support Echeverria, his direct boss, as the sole successor of Gustavo Diaz Ordaz.
